Sometimes figuring out what's wrong with your toilet, drain, or other plumbing-related area is half the battle. Uneven water flow, low pressure when the pressure at other faucets seems all right, or troublesome switching back and forth from spray head to sink spout can be caused by a malfunctioning diverter valve or by a restricted hose. Because diverter valves can only change the direction of water, and not turn water flow on or off, they are rarely used in custom shower systems. Custom showers are multiple-head showers. They consist of valves, water outlets, volume controls, shower heads, hand showers, or body sprays.
Certifications: There are many Safety certifications such as ETL, CE, UL, and ISO-9001. Depending on where you live your building inspector may require your steam shower to have certain certifications. ETL certification however is universally accepted in the United States and Canada. It is important to check with your building inspector before purchasing a steam shower that isn't ETL certified; this can save you from having to return the shower which can be expensive and hold up construction.
Once you have decided that you would like to purchase a new bathroom shower stall, as well as how large of one you can purchase, you will need to start shopping for your shower. Although you may expect to find everything that you need all in one place, it may be a little bit difficult to do. Although there are a number of retailers, particularly home improvement stores, that sell standalone shower kits, there are others who do not. If you are unable to find a retailer who sells shower kits, you may need to purchase all of your parts separately. The parts that you will need may include, but should not be limited to, a shower floor, shower walls, a shower door, as well as a shower head.
A center set faucet typically comes as a one-piece set. It is used to cover a 4inch spread. Many of these faucets are quite fashionable and easy to install.
If you have a custom shower (with multiple jets), a pressure balance valve is not a high flow valve, and cannot be expected to replace a thermostatic temperature control valve, especially in a multiple shower outlet installation. If the number of shower outlets desired is more than one valve can accommodate, it will be necessary to use two (or more) thermostat valves.
